Here’s an unusual way to make use of your sourdough starter.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter
- 1 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup raisins or chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup nuts optional
Instructions

Cream the butter and sugar together. Mix in the egg and vanilla.

Sift together the flour, soda, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed butter mixture alternating with the starter. Fold in the remaining ingredients, varying them to suit your taste.

Drop by large teaspoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 4 dozen.
