- 2 c flour
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c butter
- 4 c peeled cored apples in small chunks
- 1 c sugar
- 1 T cinnamon

Combine all dry crust ingredients, cut in the softened butter until crust crumbles.

Mix apples sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

In a greased, glass baking dish place a little over half of the crumble mixture. Spread evenly over the bottom of the dish, pack down. Stir the apples again as a syrup will have formed at the bottom of the dish, spread the apples evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the remaining crust over the top covering evenly but allowing some of the apples to show.

Bake until crust is a golden color. Remove from oven and let cool. Cut into bars and serve.
Please note that you can use any canned pie filling in this recipe for variety.
