Beef Stew

This makes a huge double batch that will serve 12. After it is cooked, I freeze half for another day.

  • 3 lb stew meat
  • 3 lg onions
  • baby carrots
  • 16 oz frozen green beans
  • 16 oz canned chopped tomatoes
  • 2 c water
  • 1/4 c instant tapioca
  • 1 tbsp beef bullion
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 bay leaves

You can make this in a crock pot or in a dutch oven. Put everything into the pot. You can brown the stew meat first if you like or not. I chop the onions into quarters and then cut each of the quarters in half. If you’re using the dutch oven, put it in the oven at 300°F for 6 or 7 hours.
